Banner Exchanges

Never get involved with banner exchanges. I've tested them for years and they never work! The results are too small to justify the time it takes to set them up. Your time is much better spend using the other marketing and advertising techniques I've outlined in this course. But don't confuse link exchanges with banner exchanges. Link exchanges are great because they help increase your popularity among the search engines. These days many major search engines such as google will only list your website if many other popular websites are linking to you. So I strongly recommend link exchanges but I don't recommend banner exchanges. I've tested them both extensively.

One more thing to be skeptical about are people that tell you how terrible of a response they got from a certain place they advertised. If they tell you they got a horrible repsonse from a banner ad or banner exchange, you can and should believe them. LOL. But people are constantly getting poor results with many of their ads and these people tend to bash the place they advertised in. People will tell me things like: "I ran some ads in Overture.com and I ended up losing money." Or "I put an ad in XYZ Newsletter/Ezine and I didn't get a single order."

Nine times out of ten, there's nothing wrong with the place they advertised. The problem is usually the fact that they don't know how to write ads or they were targeting the wrong group of people.

It's unbelievable how many people have told me to avoid advertising at a certain place when I can clearly see that the reason they got poor results from that place was that they don't know how to put together a compelling ad and get it to the proper target market.

Usually their ad copy is severely lacking in essential ingredients including at least one of the following:

1. They don't show their prospects and readers any benefits their product will offer.

2. They either don't have a headline or it's very weak and has no curiosity or shock value.

3. They fail to offer a single compelling reason to buy their product or service.

4. There are many other reasons that an ad might not work that I've already gone over in this course but the reasons listed above are the most common.

Just because a certain place to advertise didn't work well for someone else or just because a marketing method didn't work for someone else doesn't mean it won't work for you. But you can still trust me on the fact that banner ads and banner exchanges don't work anymore.

Since I review business opportunities and internet gurus all day for a living, you can guess I know which ones work and which ones don't. Click here to see how I make my money.
