David Ogilvy
David Ogilvy is widely regarded as the father of modern
advertising. He passed away in 1999 but is remembered for his
distinguished career and books such as "Ogilvy on Advertising",
"Confessions of an Advertising Man", and "The Art of Writing
Advertising : Conversations with Masters of the
Craft: David Ogilvy, William Bernbach, Leo Burnett, Rosser Reeves".
Reviews of his work are very positive and even though
many titles were written some time ago and may be dated, the principles
still stand to this day. His work is clearly the stuff anyone in the
advertising business should have on their bookshelf. David Ogilvy's
titles don't just include samples of his work and the brick and mortar
principals anyone in that field needs, but also how to get a job in the
business and run an agency. Overall, this is required reading whether
you write your own sales copy for a small business, thinking about
college, want a job in advertising or even already manage an agency.
Since I review business opportunities and internet gurus
all day for a living, you can guess I know which ones work and which
ones don't. Click here to see how I
make my money.
