Your helpful, useful free advice or article is definitely going to get your readers to pay close attention and read your entire email, but when you get to your brief, subtle mention of your product that ties into the whole thing, you'll want to have a deadline. A deadline makes your offer more attractive and more urgent. A very effective strategy is to give your readers a special link to a special page with a special deal on it just for the people on the email list and tell them the page will be taken down at the end of the month. This will create a serious sense of urgency in the readers mind and this tactic will increase your close and conversion rates immensely.
