Do Magazine Display ads still work?
Display ads are usually at least one inch tall by two
inches wide and they
get as big as a quarter-page, half page, and even full page. Display
ads
are more expensive, but some times worth it. Because there are some
people
who don't read classified ads because they think they're a joke in
business
magazines.
In newspapers, classifieds are taken a little more
serious. But
in newspapers, display ads are taken the most serious. The main reason
display ads are more expensive is because they're bigger. And the
readers
of magazines and newspapers tend to take them more serious because
display
ads usually appear right along side the articles. Plus I think readers
know
the advertiser had to spend big money to get that ad and usually more
reputable companies are the only ones that can typically afford
expensive
display ads. So they take you more serious when you have a display ad.
Where as in classified ads, readers know you're ad only cost you a few
bucks
so they may wonder why you can't afford display ads since you're
claiming
you're a millionaire and you're claiming you'll teach them how to make
millions.
As far as creating display ads, they basically use the
same idea as a
classified ad except they are just bigger. So your display ads still
just
contain a headline, the body copy(curious details) and then your call
to
action which tells them to go to a website or to call a phone number.
Of
course, another one of the big advantages of display ads is that you
get to
list a lot more information. Classifieds usually limit you to only 25
or 30
words, where as you can get hundreds of words into a display ad. Many
marketers feel like they don't get enough space to really say
everything
they want to say inside a little classified ad. And display ads
completely
take care of this problem because you can practically fit your whole
sales
letter into one. Especially if you take out a half page or full page
ad.
