Off-Line Advertising -Classified ads
by Jason Ryan Isaksen

Even though this hi-tech internet has almost completely taken over, don't forget about the good old fashion off-line advertising methods that still work. Business opportunity magazines like Entrepreneur and Small Business Start ups along with a few other smaller ones you'll see on the magazine rack still work great. I think they work better now than ever because less people are using them. All of the marketers seem to be so focused on the internet they forget that over a half million people a month read Entrepreneur magazine. And almost two hundred thousand people a month buy Small Business Opportunties Magazine at book stores, news stands, drug stores, dept. stores, etc. These magazines are all over the world so why wouldn't you want to be listed in them?

Placing ads in national magazines may seem expensive but when you consider how qualified and targeted the readers of those business start-up magazines are, then you quickly understand why they're worth it. And when you consider the fact that copies of those magazines will be on peoples tables for a whole month, it's what I call a residual form of advertising.

These magazines are laying in the waiting rooms of dentists offices, hair-cut shops, doctors offices, etc. so many other people end up seeing them. The only thing you have to worry about is making sure you write a good ad that gets the readers attention and stands out above all the other ads. And remember, if you purchased the mentoring from me, I will even help you do that. I've been testing classified ads for years and I've got it down to a science. Most of the time I know what the response rate will be before the magazine even goes out.

Another big tip when it comes to coming up with effective display ads or classified ads in magazines is to look for ads that keep running month after month after month. If you keep seeing the same ad over and over, it means that ad is working well and getting a great response. This holds true for all sizes of ads. Whether it's a 1/3rd page display ad, half page, full page, or even just a little classified ad, if the same ad keeps appearing, it's a winner.

That means it's time for you to take a good look at that ad to see why people are biting on it. What's it saying? What's it have that all the other ads don't? It's very easy to take the basic concept of the ad and use it for yourself without actually copying the ad word for word. Who knows, you may even be able to take that winning ad that keeps appearing every month and improve it. This is how the big players make the big money! I do it too!
