ONLINE MALLS AND WHY YOU SHOULD AVOID THEM
by Jason Ryan Isaksen
My students often come to me with this question. They
say: "I hear a lot about "Online Malls" and I want to know if they will
really bring lots of visitors to my website like they say they will?"
The answer is NO! The only thing an online mall gives
you is a tiny
listing on their "Main Mall Store List Page" and this page typically
gets the least amount of the mall traffic. People that sign up to be in
"Online Malls" usually think they're going to get a lot of cross
traffic like in real world malls. Cross traffic is when a shopper goes
in to a mall to buy some clothes and ends up in the vitamin store
buying vitamins. But this almost never happens in "Online Malls."
In my opinion, internet malls are a horrible place to
try to get traffic from. Mall owners almost always use high traffic
volume to try to sell you on buying into their mall. But from my
experience, the traffic coming into "Online Malls" is very low and
extremely non-targeted. You basically get a few people coming into the
"Online Mall" each day and they're not sure what they want.
Online Mall people are a bunch of window shoppers! These
people just love to look! You don't want lookers! You want serious
buyers! These types of people are bad for you and your business. My
advice is to stay far away from Online Malls. The reason you bought
this course in the first place is so you can get your own traffic and
don't have to end up desperate enough to fall victim to a mall scam.
