Things To Avoid and Common Mistakes Marketers Make Or Forget To Do

1. Forgetting to aggressively promote and advertise your website on a daily basis is a huge mistake. There are hundreds of things you could be doing right now to promote your website. Most of these things are all laid out right here in this course.

2. Forgetting to test different products on different websites and talk first hand to your customers either over the phone or by email to get their opinions. Ask them things like: "Was the website easy to navigate?" "Was the product exciting and new to you?" "Do you really have a need for my product?" "Does my price seem fair to you?" "Did my website explain how everything works clearly?" "Did you find what you were looking for at my website?"

3. Forgetting to test different advertising mediums, ad locations, marketing strategies, techniques, concepts etc. Once you have established the fact that your website has a great conversion rate and people quickly become buyers after visiting your site, you just need to focus on one main thing. TRAFFIC!! That means writing different ads, different headlines and testing them in hundreds of different places both online and off.

4. Forgetting to first educate your customer before showing them a great big sales letter. Selling is a delicate art and if you push to fast and come on too strong, you'll scare your reader away forever. You need to first build credibility by proving you know your stuff.

5. Forgetting to ask for the sale or trying to close the sale. As a marketer we all sometimes forget to do the most important thing: Ask the customer to give you their money. If you don't ask the customer to order and make it extremely obvious where to click to place that order, you will lose the order!

6. Forgetting to automate as much of your website as possible right from the time you have your site built. When most people are just getting started at marketing on the net they figure that since they're small and just getting started, they shouldn't invest time or money in automation because it will be easier to just deal with customers manually (the old fashioned way.) And if your business does become successful, you'll quickly start losing ground because you'll end up wasting your valuable marketing time by trying to run a website the old fashioned way. You need to focus your valuable time on continued marketing and not that act of manually processing orders.

7. Forgetting that simple and functional is more important to your website than glitz, glitter, or flashy animations.

8. Putting links to other peoples website near the top of your site is another big mistake. You're going to spend your time and money getting people to visit your website. Don't make the mistake of showing them other cool places to visit right up-front. They will leave your site and never come back. It's fine to have a page on your site completely devoted to reciprocal linking with other website owners that have sites related to yours. In fact these days it's very necessary to have a links page. But for goodness sakes, don't put links to other peoples websites on your main pages.

9. Using all capital letters is usually a mistake. Avoid using all capital letters as much as possible in your ads and on your website. Use all caps very sparingly when it seems like there is no other choice. All capital letters looks amateur most of the time and it slows readers down. Only use all caps when you really need to make a strong point. But most of the time you can simply use bold letters instead of using caps anyway.

10. Never use all capital letters on your sales page or in your emails except in your headlines and titles.
